Our Founder, Shawn McClondon wrote a special message to the innovative, creative, game-changing Entrepreneurs in our Community. We wanted to share it here. To our valued Community of Black Women Entrepreneurs, I am writing to you this week with unwavering resolve and deep commitment to our mission. While the election results have brought forth many emotions for alot of us, I want to emphasize that Sister Cities Project stands more determined than ever in our dedication to supporting Black Women Entrepreneurs. Our mission to build the EcoHUB Community transcends any political moment - we're here to help transform your businesses into generational wealth assets within a powerful network of like-minded entrepreneurs who understand and support your journey. The challenges you face uniquely as Black Women in business strengthen our resolve to create lasting change. More than ever, Sister Cities Project is fighting to create a future where equitable business opportunities aren't just a dream, but a reality - where your innovative ideas and game-changing visions receive the recognition, respect, and celebration they deserve. You have shared with?us, the distinct barriers you encounter - barriers that often go unacknowledged by others - and we're here with the resources, support, and community you need to thrive. I encourage you to reach out to access our resources, tap into our collaborative support network, or simply connect with fellow entrepreneurs and EcoHub members who share a collective commitment to your success.? Your success is our mission, and together, we're building something truly transformative.? Respectfully, Shawn McClondon, Founder - Sister Cities Project

In today's The San Diego Union-Tribune Opinion: Donations fuel inequity in K-12 public schools. Here’s a better way. Imagine a San Diego where every child, regardless of their family’s income or neighborhood, can enter a classroom equipped with the necessary resources for success, in addition to the support needed to provide comprehensive counseling and extracurricular activities. Join us in supporting this fund today, and let’s work towards a future where every child has an equal chance to thrive. #equityineducation #sdequitableschoolsfund #sistercitiesproject

The brilliance of the Mission Edge volunteer program cannot be overstated and we are profoundly grateful to have been chosen as one of their nonprofit partners. Huge thanks to the team of interns for their hard work, allowing us to move our mission forward as they created a campaign we’re thrilled to be rolling out on the coming days. Stay tuned! Sister Cities Project wants you to see this post from Leah Rothstein who has written extensively about segregation, one of the intentional discriminatory policies that resulted in continued segregation and divestment in black and brown communities. As we begin the count down to our Unite for Health Equity Event on Saturday, 6/27/24, this is a reminder that health disparities were and are intentional also. Health inequities did not happen by accident. There is history. This is a pattern we must understand and seek to dismantle by taking action together. Join our event Saturday - register below. https://lnkd.in/guK5iKUd

When we believe that segregation happened by accident, we think that it can only unhappen by accident. But, once we understand that intentional action created segregation, we can see that intentional action can begin to undo it. Take a few minutes to visit our website at https://lnkd.in/gE5fb8eV
