Today we celebrate the 68th anniversary of Sister Cities International, we reflect on the visionary leadership of our founder, President Dwight D. Eisenhower. On September 11, 1956, Eisenhower convened Americans from all walks of life for the White House Conference on Citizen Diplomacy, marking the beginning of the People-to-People program. His mission was to build "a road to enduring peace" through friendship, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding.
