The Diversity, Equity, Belonging and Inclusion Committee suggested an event that would honor the American Thanksgiving Day, but also celebrate our diversity and heritage.?The result was not only the traditional turkey, stuffing and gravy but foods from the team that originate from many other countries.?Appetizers, sides, desserts, and main dish foods represented Brazil, France, Germany, Ghana, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Mexico and Scotland.?No one left hungry….! #agriculture??#agriculturelife??#agricultureglobal??#ncagriculture???? #allthingsagriculture??#formulation??#thanksgiving #diversity

Thankful for our Veterans around the world.

Veterans Day is observed officially on November 11, regardless of the day of the week it falls and this year it falls on a Monday.?While we enjoy this day off as a holiday, it’s important to understand the history of this day. While those who died are also remembered, Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime. Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served – not only those who died – have sacrificed and done their duty. A number of countries honor their veterans each year on November 11, although the name and types of commemorations differ somewhat from Veterans Day celebrations in the United States. For example, Canada and Australia observe “Remembrance Day” on November 11, and Great Britain observes “Remembrance Day” on the Sunday nearest to November 11. There are similarities and differences between these countries’ Remembrance Day and America’s Veterans Day. In Italy, National Unity and Armed Forces Day is commemorated on November 4, which is the anniversary of the armistice of Villa Giusti becoming effective in 1918 declaring Austria-Hungary's surrender. It is like America’s Veterans Day and Memorial Day, combined. “Here at Sipcam Agro USA, Sipcam Agro Canada and Sipcam Oxon in Italy, we pause to offer thanks and gratitude to those who served,” said Brent Marek, CEO, Sipcam Agro USA. All this week at the Sipcam Agro Durham headquarters, a poster board has been available for employees to write the names of the Veterans in their lives as a visible way to offer gratitude. Members of Sipcam Agro USA’s Ag sales, development and solutions team attended the 50th Annual Conference & Agri-Expo South (California Association of Pest Control Advisers) in Anaheim, CA. New relationships were formed and the team educated PCAs about some of our unique Ag products, Annuity and Mevalone, that support California (any many other states) grapes, tree nuts and other crops. Attending were Alistair McKay, Joey Cox, Josh Brosz and Douglas Phelps. See more of our successful trip!
