Did you know the Barb Iverson Skate Plaza in Sioux Falls is one of the largest skate parks in the country? The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation is proud to have played a role in bringing this transformative facility to the community by partnering with Let’s Skate. “The Foundation took care of everything we needed from a back-office perspective, things that none of us at Let’s Skate had experience in,” said Alix Kyrie, board member for Let’s Skate. “That allowed us the freedom to focus on what we are good at.” https://lnkd.in/gRqn-m3k

The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation honored Dick and Kathy Sweetman earlier this month with the Friend of the Foundation Award, which recognizes philanthropic individuals, families and businesses whose innovative and collaborative leadership and generosity have been influential in the Sioux Falls area. “To say they are generous would be an understatement,” said Mary Kolsrud, chief philanthropy officer for the Community Foundation. “What makes their generosity so unique isn’t just how much or how often they give, it’s the depth of their care and their steadfast belief in Sioux Falls and its people.” https://lnkd.in/gABFryDf

The Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation celebrated the impact of philanthropy in the community at our 2024 Donor Reception. We were proud to share updates from our past fiscal year, where we accepted a record-breaking more than $92 million in gifts and granted more than $38 million to nonprofits and causes across the area. Since the Foundation began more than 40 years ago, we have granted more than $313 million to help build a stronger community. The Watering Can's new workshop series is enhancing the vibrancy of the local arts scene in Sioux Falls by teaching artists the business skills they need to thrive. We're excited to have played a role in helping this project come to life.

When flooding damaged the land that houses Camp Leif Ericson, donors quickly mobilized to fund the repairs. Thanks to strong community support, summer camp was a success.
