Honoring an incredible legacy: At SIOR’s Fall 2024 Event in LA, we were proud to present SIOR’s Mildred C. Hanson “Millie” Award posthumously to Barb Johnson, CCIM, SIOR, Ed.D. The Millie Award is presented to female SIORs who demonstrate integrity, dedication to the principles of SIOR, and passion for advancing women in commercial real estate, all attributes that Barb exhibited unequivocally throughout her career. She excelled in numerous leadership roles — from Chapter President to her time on the SIOR FOUNDATION Board — and achieved many accolades for her accomplishments as a broker, including the Broker of the Year Award and Largest Lease and Largest Office transactions. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Barb was a champion for mentorship, actively supporting organizations like CREW and the Women’s Council for the University of Utah’s Ivory Boyer Real Estate Center. As Lynn Reich, SIOR, shared: “She was a person of utmost integrity, dedication, reliability, success at whatever she embarked upon. She always had time for everyone else, even when she herself encountered challenges in her own life. She was the consummate professional in every way imaginable.
