Siniard Law is seeking a legal assistant or paralegal to add to its team. Our law firm handles solely personal injury cases in the north Alabama region, receiving the distinction of a Tier 1 personal injury litigation firm in the north Alabama region in 2024 and 2025. We currently have four attorneys and six support staff, but due to increased caseload, we are hiring! We have a great office culture based on fun, winning, and giving back to our community. All of our current staff are “self-starters” and most have been with us 5+ years. They are proactive on behalf of our clients, and, most importantly, able to interact in a friendly and compassionate manner with our clients. The most important requirements for this position are your attitude and whether you share our core values, explained more below. Two years of paralegal or legal assistant experience is required to be considered. Experience working in a personal injury law firm is great, but not required. If you don’t like winning and don’t like a family-vibe at the office, do not apply. This job is fast-paced and you will not be micro-managed. However, we track data and review productivity data-based indicators. On a day to day basis, you must be accountable to yourself and your/our clients. Your work productivity data will be reviewed quarterly by the managing attorney. Actual job tasks include: 1. Interacting with clients on the phone 2. Drafting pleadings and discovery 3. Handling subrogation and liens 4. Ordering medical records 5. Summarizing medical records 6. Managing your files 7. Assisting attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, and trials Pay rate will be in the range $17 to $27 per hour, based on experience and skill set. We give yearly raises based on productivity data. Benefits include: Health insurance (BCBS fully paid by the firm), 401(k) with 3% match, one week of PTO that increases annually, vision/dental insurance, disability insurance, and a discretionary year-end bonus based on the firm achieving firm-wide annual goals set each January. We also have a quarterly team-bonding day where we go bowling, golfing, or some other fun activity, usually on a Thursday. (Benefits also include a really fun Christmas party.) The position is in-office and not remote because we believe office culture is paramount. We are a team and in-person interaction is vital to being a true team. Our office is in downtown Huntsville. Today is a big day and it stirs up a lot of memories. Getting to partner with old friends is a bit surreal. Bart Siniard and I met during the summer of 2004, when I was a junior in high school and we were both quarterbacks on the Huntsville High School football team. I had recently moved back to Huntsville and didn't know a lot of people. Early that summer, I recall Bart inviting me over to a rental house that Tommy used to own on Marsheutz to play poker with some of the guys, maybe some quarters on the kitchen table. It made me feel like a part of the team. Bart and I weren't typical jocks, which is probably why we hit it off. We shared a love for writing. We were both members of the school literary magazine, Spectrum, led by Beck McDowell. Now, 20 years later, we're on the same team again, this time as lawyers. Tommy Siniard has built a career helping injured people. Bart has followed in those footsteps, and I won't recount their accomplishments in that arena here -- you can probably read about them on our website. What I do want to recognize, and this is important to me, is Tommy and Bart's commitment to our local communities. These guys love giving back, and when it's all said and done with, that's what I hope our legacy is all about. I'm very excited about this opportunity and everything to come at Siniard Law, LLC! Recognition is also deserved for the law partners that I'm leaving -- Ralph Hornsby, Jr. and Bud Watson. Ralph and Bud gave me my first shot out of law school and have been tremendous mentors, partners, and friends. I could write pages about the ways they have helped me get to this point, and it still wouldn't be enough. Time to share some big news.... attorney Barnes Heyward is joining our firm! A graduate of Cumberland School of Law, Barnes has practiced personal injury law his entire career. He trained under highly-respected Huntsville trial lawyers and already has a strong track record of securing significant outcomes on behalf of injured people in north Alabama. The National Trial Lawyers recently recognized Barnes as a Top 40 Under 40 personal injury lawyer in the state of Alabama.
