Hannah Wells is on a mission to help women feel deeply resourced—mind, body, and soul—so they can create meaningful change in their lives and in the world. After earning her MBA and dedicating over a decade to corporate sustainability, she faced burnout. Determined to reclaim her joy and free herself from debilitating back pain, she turned to somatic healing and the art of celebration, transforming her life and discovering the power of seeing abundance where she once saw lack. Now, as a Women’s Empowerment Coach, Retreat Leader, and Community Builder, Hannah helps women navigate life transitions, recover from burnout, and heal patterns that no longer serve them. She equips her clients with the tools to reconnect with their bodies, redefine success, and step into lives brimming with confidence, joy, and connection. Her work is deeply inspired by her personal transformation and the lessons she’s learned about breaking free from perfectionism, embracing abundance, and finding joy in the present. Known for her warmth and ability to create spaces of belonging, Hannah blends vulnerability with actionable tools to help women feel seen, celebrated, and empowered to take up space unapologetically. Dynamic, transformative and bold are the words often used to describe Fitness Olympian, Women’s Health & Personal Development Expert, U.S.A.F. Veteran, Survivor of Domestic Violence, 13 x Self-published Author and CEO of N-Powered Coaching Academy, Laticia “Action” Jackson. As a transformational speaker and leader, Laticia “Action Jackson” is on a mission to ignite fire, passion and purpose within her audience by taking them on a ride of personal truth that stops at the address of pain often hidden by success, knocks on the door of pretense and shouts in the face of fear. Her mission to help transform the lives of women was birthed after almost dying in a domestic violence attack at the age of 29. Months after her survival, she dealt with feelings of shame, she was in a deep depression, couldn’t control her anxiety and thoughts of suicide plaqued her. Internally she knew she was broken. That was until one day in a depressive state, she realized she survived for a reason and that there was no power in keeping silent about her domestic abuse. Therefore, she made a conscious decision to start her healing journey and discover ways to turn her pain into purpose by teaching women and girls around the world how to heal from past trauma, how to confront things in life that no longer serve them and how to acquire the skills needed to develop economic independence. For the last 15 years she has spoken on military bases around the United States, at risk high-schools, for corporations like Microsoft and to faith-based organizations on various topics that affect women and girls including domestic violence, women’s health, health equity, equal pay, domestic violence?and women’s leadership. The proud mother of Acacia Marie and married to her amazingly handsome husband Dwight, Action is a one dynamic woman on a mission to transform the lives of millions of women and girls one speaking presentation at a time! MEET OUR 2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Tara Taylor, Founder As a coach, speaker and the Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Single Mom Strong, Tara Taylor demonstrates her passion for empowering and motivating women daily. After beginning her career in property management, Tara opened her own property management company at the age of twenty-nine, as a single mother with a young daughter and a mortgage. Concurrently, she became co-owner of a security company, and eventually went on to operate one of the largest security dealerships in the nation for several years. Inspired by her experience raising her daughter and her career success, and motivated by her conviction that anything can be accomplished with effort and determination, Tara switched gears and found her purpose in creating and building Single Mom Strong, a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower and create community for single mothers and their children, through enrichment, encouragement and educational programs. In less than eight years, she has led Single Mom Strong to become a community of over 1,300 local single mothers, while also incorporating quality, affordable preschool and childcare in multiple locations and free Career Advancement programming. Meanwhile, Tara continues to grow as a leader: completing Sacramento Metro Chamber’s Leadership Sacramento program in 2019, being recognized as a “Woman Who Means Business” by the Sacramento Business Journal in 2020, and now, as a member of Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program’s Class XV.

MEET OUR 2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Meghan Huber, CEcD, President Meghan Huber is the Economic Development and Community Engagement Director for the City of Citrus Heights. Meghan brings over 15 years of public and private sector experience in economic development, business development, communications, and marketing. She leads Economic Development, Communications, Community Engagement, Legislative, Government Affairs, and Grants Strategy for Citrus Heights. Meghan holds a Certified Economic Developer designation from International Economic Development Council and was recently honored as one of Sacramento’s “40 under 40” by Sacramento Business Journal. Meghan has served on the board of directors of Single Mom Strong since 2019 and as President since 2020. Meghan knows the economic development success of the Sacramento region is inextricably linked to the health and wellbeing of moms and families. She is a fierce advocate of Single Mom Strong’s model that creates outcomes to advance regional competitiveness and prosperity, one family at a time. Meet Our 2025 Board of Directors: Amber Serna Connors- Vice-President Amber Connors resides in Roseville with her two teenage sons and husband Jim. She has over 25 years of IT experience, with 15 years focused on the electric utility industry with SMUD.?She is currently the IT Director of SMUD’s Customer and Grid Operation Technology Center, leading SMUD’s efforts to deliver industry-leading initiatives and operational technologies to achieve SMUD’s 2030 Clean Energy Vision.?Amber holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration / Accounting and earned her MBA in Management Information Systems from CSU Chico. She is PMP and Scrum certified, has a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University and has completed the Prosci Change Management Certification. In addition, Amber served as Secretary for Roseville Youth Soccer Club from 2020-2022. Amber began serving on the Board of Directors in 2023 and is excited to be part of Single Mom Strong's journey, serving strong women and our future generations. We are so grateful to have her step into a leadership role as Vice-President in 2025!

Meet Our 2025 Board of Directors: Alex Trujillo, CBPA, Director of Fundraising Alex Trujillo is a dedicated father of a brilliant and beautiful daughter, Ella. He's extremely passionate about his career as a Business Performance Advisor with Insperity, where he supports business owners and their teams, and has been awarded numerous community and client growth awards as a result. Alex’s heart for community has led him to find creative and innovative ways to support – whether through hands-on service, fundraising or board leadership. He is known as a champion of others, dedicating many hours to teaching and finding ways to inspire and encourage people to become better versions of themselves. A multi-year board member, member of the SMS Men's Mentoring Team and Organization Donor/Sponsor, Alex has continues to make a profound impact for Single Mom Strong. MEET OUR 2025 BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Desiree Taylor, Director of Children's Services Desiree Taylor is not only?Single Mom Strong's?Director of Children's Services, but she is also the Assistant Childcare Director for EmpowerME Preschool & Childcare, Single Mom Strong's discounted, high-quality preschool and childcare program. As Single Mom Strong's first-ever employee in 2016, she has a depth of experience with the organization ranging from early event support to returning to lead Summer Camp each year during college. With five years of teaching experience, and specialized coursework completed to support EmpowerME's Infant-Toddler expansion,?Desiree?not only?embodies?our?EmpowerME values, but has become a leader among the teaching team. Having built the Infant-Toddler program from the ground up, she is thrilled to have her infant daughter now attending.??Single Mom Strong's mission is very personal to Desiree and she looks forward to further impacting our children's lives through her board service.
