The composting process is as fascinating as complex. Here are its phases??: 1. Mesophilic phase: Microorganisms at room temperature break down organic materials, raising the temperature, lowering pH, and producing acids. 2. Thermophilic phase ??: Temperature rises above 45°C, and heat-loving thermophilic microorganisms break down more complex compounds, with the involvement of fungi and bacteria. 3. Cooling phase ?: After the toughest materials are broken down, the temperature drops, and mesophilic microorganisms return to decompose cellulose. 4. Maturation phase: The longest phase, where temperature and pH stabilize, and microorganisms, mites, and insects complete the transformation of the compost.?? 8 million tons of waste ends up in our seas and oceans, which is enough to cover the Manhattan Island 34 times! Plastic pollution represents at least 85% of it ????. It affects more than 600 marine species that ingest this waste, introduce it into the food chains and, thus, finally reaching our food. At this rate, 99% of marine species will have ingested some type of plastic waste by 2050 ??????. #Clickeat #BCorp #SustainableBusiness #ForceForGood
