In March of 2022, we decided to double down on one of our values here at Simplified. The Value? Development. We believe in the importance of continuous learning and growing together as a team. This not only helps the company by adding to the collective knowledge of the team, but more importantly it benefits the individual. The way we did this was by starting something called "Book Club". The idea was that we would all read the same book and on a weekly basis discuss what was read. It was completely voluntary. Once committed, you were expected to spend your free time reading (or listening) to the chapters, then discuss it with your colleagues. I am blown away at the end result. New ideas from every member of the team, improved skills across the board, and a shared language and understanding that unites us in our efforts to serve one another and our customers. Sure, some books were better than others. However, nuggets of wisdom were pulled out of each and every one of these books and applied to our daily lives. And it wasn't just because we "read" them. It was because we read them AND discussed them as a group. I am so proud of our team here at Simplified. Now what book is next?? #development #businessdevelopment #bookclub
