The X = Primary Care team and Zeal Capital Partners came together to host an amazing retreat in Philly over the weekend. Physicians, investors, founders, payors, and FQHC leaders gathered to discuss the intricacies of FQHCs and the innovations needed to overcome present challenges. It’s too rare that we get the array of stakeholders in the same room to voice their perspectives on big healthcare topics. The retreat also marked the end of my time as an XPC fellow. The experience as a fellow shaped the trajectory that SimpleDoc is on, taught me about health literacy and how to run an early stage startup, and introduced me some brilliant minds across healthcare. Thank you to everyone who offered insight along the way, including (but not limited to) Tim Fitzpatrick, Hillary Lin, MD, Jonathan Govette, Jack Needham, Ellen Su, Gus Roman, MBA/MPH, and Yubin Park, PhD.?Special shoutout to Paulius Mui, MD for the opportunity and weekly innovation therapy. SimpleDoc has made some exciting progress and we are currently building a platform to help pediatric sickle cell patients transition to adult care.
