A Meeting Guide For Managers To Run Inclusive Meetings These days, meetings occur in various ways (e.g., in-person, virtual, hybrid, etc.), causing many to struggle with fostering inclusion because of an uptick in requirements. Leaders, however, must consider inclusion as a factor in delivering a successful meeting. I've had several experiences where I participated in a meeting as an observer. I observed, took notes, and did some self-talk to avoid engaging with my perspective during the meeting. In retrospect, it didn't feel great, and I contemplated how the experience could have been vastly different. The truth is I felt excluded, not included, and I wonder how many of us attend meetings where we focus on feeling excluded vs. included.
