Back-to-school season is here! ?? So proud of the Centerspace volunteers who spent hundreds of volunteers hours packing backpacks to help support close to 1,000 students this summer with their back to school needs. Thank you, Simon Says Give, DINA SIMON and Mandi Simon for bringing the community together to make a difference! Big shout-out to the Centerspace Cares committee and Anne Olson for their unwavering commitment to community and education! Big thank you to Crystal Beyer for setting up and hosting the High Five For Supplies event. This summer marks our 12th High Five for Supplies at Simon Says Give. With this year's addition to our running total, we move past the 70,000 kids supported. We have the continued support of?Jim S. Johnson, CSP,?and team;?Tony Sorensen?and?Chris Ohlendorf?and team;?John Arnold?and?Robert Arnold?and team; our board; our many nonprofit partners; our family; and our friends! We had volunteers who participated in our Guinness World Records event this year. Our friend?Jeffrey B Larson provided space. We have had Ina Macovei, CPP and Centerspace host a packing event that supported close to 1000 kids. JENNI SEVERSON and Vivacity Tech PBC are hosting a packing event to support another 1000 kids. We will continue to receive donations - I know a few companies are working on supply drives, and we will continue to get them out into the community as soon as we receive them! We had the amazing team of Innovative Office Solutions rock our school supply purchase. Thank you Pearlee Coty and Karla Gunderson! - Please thank the entire IN team! Thank you Tamara Prato, Stacey Bartelson, CFP?, CEPA?, ChFC?, Samuel Rodriguez ???????, Milena Holmen, & Eric Johnson for bringing your families! Thank you Paula Praska for your hard work and photo capture! Thank you Mandi Simon for asking us all to support you and make an impact on the kids in our community! It's a massive amount of work! We loaded about 3,000 backpacks this year and 1,000 of these supply kits. The kits are still requested post-COVID days. Most of the backpacks were donated by a promo supply company, and they were the most amazing backpacks we have had in 12 years! We are so excited for the kids to receive them! Thank you to my neighbor Kathy, who helped make many trips to pick up backpacks and secure them in our storage unit until we needed them! We thank all our donors and volunteers! Catherine Pasco and I got to spend the morning yesterday with Simon Says Give to pack school supplies into backpack for their annual 'High Five For Supplies' event! This is such a special organization that supports kiddos around the Twin Cities and surrounding states get set up with essential items for the upcoming school year. ?? This would not be possible without Mandi Simon and DINA SIMON and their hearts of gold. They have built an incredible support system and lasting partnerships that share an important common goal. While Catie and I packed 275 backpacks - other organizations such as Centerspace, Vivacity Tech PBC, Celarity and so many more donate time and resources to pack upwards of 1,000 backpacks EACH. Speaks volumes when companies come together to support the children in their communities and have FUN doing it!
