In honor of World Cystic Fibrosis Day, we're highlighting an incredible associate and the impact Cystic Fibrosis (CF) has had on his family. Haskell Anderson, Vice President and Market Retail Manager, is known for his friendliness, can-do spirit, and passion for serving his customers and the community of Little Rock, Arkansas. In 2003 his 18-month-old son Reece was diagnosed with CF. Haskell recalls, "It is hard to describe the helpless feeling of knowing your child has an illness there is no cure for and will be fighting for the rest of his life. I am a fixer by nature and it was very difficult to know there was really nothing I could do to fix the situation." But one thing Haskell knew he could was to volunteer and advocate. After finding out that the local office of the CF Foundation was around the corner from his branch, he immediately got connected. "My goal from that day forward was to do what I could to make sure that our kids had a reason to hope for a future by getting more people involved in the fight locally." For over twenty years, Haskell has served in various leadership roles with the CF Foundation and championed the Little Rock Great Strides event. In recognition of his positive impact on the community, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Arkansas/West Tennessee Chapter recently awarded Haskell the Breath of Life Award. We're incredibly proud of Haskell and inspired by his advocacy, which is helping many other individuals and families impacted by CF.

Congratulations to two newly promoted leaders within Simmons’ Credit Risk organization. Collin Moody and William Childs have been named Corporate Credit Risk Officer and Senior Vice President of Lending Operations, respectively. Collin joined Simmons nearly five years ago and most recently served as Senior Vice President and Director of Credit Risk. William has been with the bank for seven years and previously served as Vice President and Director of Lending Operations Analysis. We’re proud to congratulate both Collin and William on their new leadership roles and applaud their exemplification of Simmons Bank’s Pursue Growth culture!

Congratulations to Terry Wood, who recently celebrated 40 years with Simmons Bank! Community Regional Executive Tommy Jarrett says, "Terry has been the face of Simmons in Dumas, Arkansas for 40 years. She treats our customers like her friends and family. She has a strong work ethic and has worked tirelessly in the community." Thank you, Terry, for 40 years of loyalty to our company and customers!

Congratulations to Mia Curb on receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award! This award recognizes an associate who positively impacts their communities through an outstanding commitment to volunteerism and the causes they serve while embodying the Simmons culture. Award recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by Simmons Bank senior leadership. Mia is actively involved in several community and professional organizations, including but not limited to serving on the Board of Directors for Holidays and Heroes, volunteering with the Young Women's Leadership Academy, mentoring through the Navy Chief Officer Association, and serving as a Simmons Bank CRA representative. Congratulations again, Mia, on this well-earned recognition! We are truly grateful for your contributions and inspired by your dedication to community service.

As a Simmons Bank Ambassador, Kayla's goal is to bring the "Better Together" philosophy to life, emphasizing that increased engagement among colleagues enhances both individual performance and collective achievements. For Kayla, embodying the role of a Simmons Ambassador is about passionately advocating for the people who are the foundation of Simmons Bank. She finds immense joy and honor in being a voice, a mentor, and a source of motivation for her colleagues. Kayla's favorite thing about working at Simmons Bank is the people she works with. The unparalleled sense of unity, mutual support, and affection shared among team members is what she values above all.

Tommy May, Simmons First Foundation Chairman, CEO Bob Fehlman, and other local business leaders participated in the second annual Arkansas CEO Soak to raise money for ALS research. In honor of retiring Simmons Board members Dean Bass, W. Scott McGeorge and Jay Burchfield, we've donated a combined $75,000. Three nonprofits received $25,000 in honor of Dean, Scott and Jay, respectively: Hope’s Path, St. Peter Catholic Church and Simmons First Foundation. We are deeply grateful for all that each of these former board members contributed and are proud to honor their service through these donations.

In addition to working side-by-side with bank associates and participating in weekly “lunch and learns” with leaders, our summer interns also got to experience another core value at Simmons Bank, community volunteerism, by spending the afternoon volunteering at the Arkansas Food Bank.
