We had a great time at Eleanor Rush Intermediate School’s Career Day! Rick, one of our skilled mixer truck drivers, brought a Silvi mixer truck to the school, giving students an up-close look at the truck. In the classroom, he shared insights about Silvi Materials, the role of concrete in construction, and life as a mixer truck driver. The students asked thoughtful questions and showed excitement while exploring the truck outside. Yesterday, Silvi Materials joined forces with the Philadelphia Eagles, ACME, and the Parkside Association of Philadelphia for a holiday food drive at our West Philadelphia ready-mix concrete plant. Together, we helped provide over 100 families with turkeys, gift cards, and 2,000 canned goods ahead of Thanksgiving. This incredible effort was a true team collaboration. Silvi employees exceeded our goal by collecting over 900 cans, which we matched to reach 2,000 cans. Eagles rookies, cheerleaders, mascot Swoop, and more than 20 Silvi employees came together to distribute donations and make a meaningful impact. Special thanks to the Parkside Association of Philadelphia for their leadership and to everyone who contributed to making this event a success. The Silvi team is ready to make an impact at tomorrow’s Eagles x Silvi Food Drive! ???? Through our partnership with the Philadelphia Eagles, donations will support the Parkside Association of Philadelphia, a non-profit dedicated to assisting families near our Philadelphia plant. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, we collected an incredible 932 cans across all locations—exceeding our goal of 700! Silvi matched these donations, bringing the total to 2,000 cans to help families in need this holiday season. Thank you to the area managers for delivering donations to Silvi HQ, where James, Angie, Andrew, Darren, McKayla, and Heather organized and counted every can. And to every Silvi employee who donated—your contributions are truly making a difference. CONTROLS Inc. was proud and excited to sponsor the Student Pervious Concrete Cylinder Competition at the American Concrete Institute meeting in Philadelphia again this year.
