This role offers the flexibility to work on both private development and public works projects in San Diego County. Key Responsibilities: - Lead survey teams and oversee survey operations for various projects. - Conduct field data collection, measurement, and analysis for both private and public projects. - Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure accuracy and efficiency. - Maintain project schedules and deliverables, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Party Chief in land surveying. Strong knowledge of Leica and Trimble surveying equipment and techniques. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and organizational skills. 500 OR MORE WAYS TO STAY RELEVANT #008: The Art of Presentation Let’s think about people who are really good influencers or performers for this concept: The artists, actors, comedians, authors, musicians, magicians, motivational speakers, therapists, teachers, lecturers, professors, presidents, politicians, reporters, journalists, and sports casters are just some of the types you might gravitate towards. And you know who your favorites are in each of those categories. How about the people you see regularly, like your friends? Can you pick out the ones who have created a cozy inviting home for their guests? How about the homes that are grand and majestic? The art of presentation can come from where you least expect it, and there are those times when you expect it but it’s completely lacking; like a bad movie you just paid for.?? Maybe we could argue that the ones who attract us the most have created the best illusions for our mind to feel certain emotions. Feeling comfortable, intrigued with mystery, or engaged with wonder seem to be magnetic for our mind. Having good presentation skills doesn’t always come easy. Sometimes the lucky ones have a natural talent for it, while the rest of us have to work on it strategically and take time to practice regularly in the industry we’re in. Getting a standing ovation on your performance can be your objective, so engage in learning and honing in on the skills required for that kind of outcome. Presentation may need some visual aid to help the learner, but something unique about a presenter is the ability to animate themselves into character and position of the topic at hand. First, learn how to communicate and be relevant to people in a natural way. Immerse yourself into what you are trying to present and own it. Do your best and offer people to give constructive criticism to help improve. Ask an honest person to give you honest feedback, and don’t get offended if you gave yourself and ‘A’ and they don’t.
