关于我们
Our mission is to empower youth in foster care to thrive through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life skills. Silver Lining Mentoring (formerly named Adoption & Foster Care Mentoring) is one of the few mentoring organizations in Massachusetts that exclusively serves youth in foster care. Since 2001, Silver Lining Mentoring has empowered foster and adopted youth in Greater Boston to flourish through committed mentoring relationships. Silver Lining Mentoring is one of only a few mentoring organizations in the country that exclusively serves this population, and provides the most targeted, specialized mentoring service for young people who have been removed from their homes due to alleged abuse or neglect. Youth in the child welfare system constitute one of the more under-served populations in our community; because of this, these youth can benefit significantly from committed mentorships and increased access to employment training, education, and other critical job- and life-skills resources.

MMP is excited to announce our Mentor Training Series for any and all program mentors! In response to mentoring program requests to offer additional training that mentors could opt-in to at their convenience, we're piloting a training series just for volunteer mentors! Trainings will be scheduled at convenient times for mentors and cover topics that build on the traditional Mentor 101 agenda. Join us for our first training in the series, Mentor Mindset, Wednesday March 26th from 7:00pm-8:30pm! This training is intended for those who are just starting out on their mentoring journey, or mentors who want a refresher. Participants will leave with knowledge of the four core components of Mentoring Mindset and how they influence our role as mentors. We will also explore how these core components can be shared with our mentees and partners to create a shared understanding of our work. The goal for the Mentoring Mindset framework is to shift the way that mentoring relationships are created, sustained, and leveraged to deepen the shared responsibility of realizing each person’s full potential and their capacity to influence their communities. This training opportunity is free and open to all volunteer mentors or anyone interested in enhancing their mentoring relationships with youth. Please share with your mentors and encourage them to join us! #MentoringAmplifies #MentorMindset #massmentoring #mmp #bostonma
