Discussing the expanded optionalities of Dell’s APEX Cloud platform ? In this #DellAPEX for Red Hat session, #theCUBE explores the new Dell APEX Cloud platform’s expanded optionalities and their benefits for customers with Alyson Langon, director of product marketing for multicloud and HCI at Dell Technologies. “Originally, it was based on PowerFlex. Now, we are expanding to have that underlying block storage based on our PowerStore. So, you can get great performance and enterprise-grade data services. We've also added our Red Hat OpenShift data foundation, designed for smaller clusters when you have a minimal footprint of block file or object storage that you want to deploy. This gives you a lot more optionality,” Langon shares. “With our Dell container storage modules, you're able to add on additional external storage for things like PowerFlex for file object scale. Those two platforms are really important when it comes to things like AI, and being able to drive those modern AI applications,” she concludes. ?? How does Dell APEX for OpenShift fit into customers’ AI needs? ?? In this #DellAPEX for Red Hat exclusive, #theCUBE is joined by Stuart Miniman, senior director of market insights for hybrid platforms at Red Hat, to talk about the recent developments in the Dell APEX platform to meet customers’ needs around AI. “OpenShift AI has been an option on top of the [APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift] from the early days. Now VMs just expand that option… and it's a really good offering,” said Miniman. “OpenShift AI has been having significant growth this year, both from what we're doing as well as our partnership with IBM, where OpenShift AI is part of WatsonX.ai,” Miniman shares. “Predictive AI and gen AI, we can handle both of those types of environments. A majority of the customers are starting those in their data centers because they want to get a few GPUs. They're really concerned about the security of their environment, so they want to do those early tests on the safety of their environment.
