Unleashing the resources and talents of the Silicon Valley community to achieve meaningful social impact.
关于我们
SV2, Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund, is a community of more than 200 individuals who have joined together to learn about effective giving and pool our resources to invest in innovative nonprofits and social enterprises. Our mission is to unleash the resources and talents of the Silicon Valley community to achieve meaningful social impact. We take a trust-based philanthropy approach, supporting mission-driven nonprofits in the Bay Area with unrestricted multi-year grants and Beyond the Dollars support. Partners choose Grantees at crucial inflection points in their organizational development, offering “beyond-the-dollars” advising to help them build capacity and scale. We make equity and debt investments in early stage companies with social or environmental impact at the core of their business model. We are especially focused on allocating capital to founders from underrepresented backgrounds. We offer week-long immersive learning trips in California and the U.S. South, learning workshops on topics like nonprofit financial review, board service, and values-aligned investing, and peer cohorts focused on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. SV2 Partners report becoming more strategic, confident, and generous givers, as well as more actively engaged in their communities. For more, see SV2’s latest Impact Report found at www.sv2.org

?? SV2’s FY 23-24 Impact Report is Here! ?? At Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund - SV2, we believe in the power of collaborative giving to drive real, lasting change. Our latest Impact Report highlights our collective impact alongside our Donor Partners, Grantees, and Impact Investees over the past year. ?? Key Highlights: ? Our Board of Directors is now the most diverse and representative in SV2’s organizational history. Both Grantee and Investee leaders serve on SV2’s Board; 70% of Board members are people of color, and 80% are female. ? ? ? ? ? ? In FY 23-24, SV2 invested $592,992 – making unrestricted, three-year grants to four non-profits and investing in six for-profit social ventures. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? We also launched our first California Equity Journey last June, with 16 SV2 Donor Partners and staff participating in a seven-day immersive learning trip through parts of our state. This report is more than just numbers—it’s a testament to the power of one of the core guiding principles in SV2’s Strategic Plan: “Equity will be a central through line in our work.” ? Thanks to our amazing SV2 Donor Partners, Grantees, and Impact Investees for making this work possible. Together, we are creating a more equitable, sustainable, and just world. ?? We are thrilled to welcome Linda Prieto to the Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund - SV2 staff team!
I'm delighted to welcome Linda Prieto to Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund - SV2 as our Chief Program & Advancement Officer! Linda has deep connections to SV2. She served as Executive Director of Upward Scholars, a former SV2 Grantee Partner, for over six years, and has served on the SV2 Board since 2022. Linda has been a joy to work with in these capacities, and I can't wait to partner with her on the SV2 staff team! Read more about Linda's impressive background here: https://lnkd.in/g4gumhMr Linda serves as SV2’s Chief Program & Advancement Officer, working closely with team members on SV2’s programming and fund development. As the daughter of immigrants who left México to give their children a better life, she grew up working in the agricultural fields of the central San Joaquin Valley in California. In second grade, her teacher was the first person Linda ever heard say the word “college.” Until that point in her life, she didn’t know anyone who had more than a sixth-grade level education. But like her parents, she too believed that education could break the cycle of poverty. A belief in education drove Linda to earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Stanford, a master’s degree in education from Harvard, and a Ph.D. in education from UT Austin. After a career in higher education, she returned to the Bay Area and transitioned to the nonprofit sector. Linda has over a decade of experience leading nonprofits most recently as the executive director of Upward Scholars, a former SV2 Grantee whose mission is to provide adult immigrants the boost they need to move up the economic ladder through education and career development support. Linda lives in Redwood City and is raising her son to be just as excited about learning, social justice, and service as she has always been.
