Our sixth Innovator at the upcoming Silicon Valley Employers Forum has developed an app that educates the user (self-insured employer or healthcare systems) on critical (and often non-intuitive) healthcare costing practices, fosters benchmarking versus critical targets, delivers fingertip access and transparency to an organization’s costs across several dimensions and isolates common healthcare billing errors through its proprietary risk-scoring algorithms. ?Medical billing errors are estimated at 80% of all invoices, and amount to an estimated 17 billion dollars per year (American Medical Association). ?As a self-insured employer it is key to know if there are errors happening within your medical plan: duplicate payments, medical coding errors, age / gender conflicts, services billed not rendered, payment for non-covered services, improper diagnosis, patients that are no longer eligible for coverage and more. ??finHealth's solution also can help uncover exceptions where the cost charged to the patient was far beyond a reasonable, competitive rate for that medical treatment.
