Last week, Signum Global Advisors led the first foreign investor trip to Ukraine since the war began. We met with the Ministries of Finance, Economy, Infrastructure, Digitalization, Central Bank, Debt Management Agency, Reconstruction Agency, US Embassy as well as several Members of Parliament. The reconstruction of Ukraine will present very attractive investment opportunities in the energy, minerals, infrastructure, agriculture, IT and defense tech sectors. In addition to gaining unique insights (and experiencing nightly Russian drone attacks), we witnessed firsthand the bravery, heroism and resilience of the Ukrainian government and people. Thank you to the 16 clients that joined us from the US, UK, EU and Middle East. We will be leading another trip to Ukraine in the next 4-5 months. ???????? Signum's Global Head of Policy Research Andrew D. Bishop joined Bloomberg to break down the stakes of the US-Russia call: "The expectation is, first of all, that from the Russian perspective, this call is very much about US-Russia relations--bilateral relations. It’s not about Ukraine." Andrew also noted that Russia is setting terms that would be difficult for the US to meet while questioning the extent of US leverage in these negotiations: "The US can stop sending weapons to Ukraine, but it cannot force Europe to stop... That puts a big limit on what Trump can deliver to Putin." The coming days will be crucial in shaping the future of US, European, and Russian relations.
