SIGMA Corporation offers a wide range of waterworks and OEM products for customers at home and abroad. Established in 1985 by engineers with new ideas for supplying AWWA pipe fittings, SIGMA has grown into a multi-million dollar international corporation with loyal customers across the US and Canada, and products in countries around the world. We continuously strive to create safer, better, more cost-effective products for the worldwide water and wastewater industry. In 2014 alone, SIGMA created over 600 new and redeveloped products. Our technology created the PV-LOK and ONE-LOK joint restraints, and we manufactured the industry’s first-ever 42-inch and 48-inch mechanical restraining devices for AWWA C905 PVC pressure pipes. SIGMA still provides the widest selection of fittings on the market today.

  • For the eighth year running, Operations Manager Jim Carr took the the Polar Bear Plunge in support of the Special Olympics. His involvement started when a friend, a retired police officer and huge supporter of the cause, invited Jim to join. He decided to take the plunge, joined this devoted group, and has remained committed to the annual event. By far, Jim’s favorite part is the people, both those who share the commitment to supporting these inspiring athletes and the athletes themsleves. He explains, “It's all about providing opportunities for those with special needs to participate and compete in sports on a level playing field the same as we all did. Everyone there is happy and excited. It's just an amazing feeling. We've met so many people who not only donate but also come there to support us. One year I had the good fortune to meet one of these young athletes. He and I were talking and tossing a football back and forth for about 20 minutes. I saw the news cameras coming and told him it was his time not mine and as I started to walk away, he grabbed me and hugged me. I was hooked!! I have not missed an event since.” This year, 8000 swimmers and 30,000 spectators gathered at the beach in Seaside Heights and raised a total of $2.3 million. This was the coldest water Jim has experienced since he began the plunge: “The water was a cool 32 degrees and there were sheets of ice floating in the bay!” He adds, “The impact of this benefit is massive. Not only do the funds enable more Special Olympic competitions, they also provide resources for conditioning, training and health screenings for the athletes to prevent injuries and optimize their fitness.
