Those hop harvest scenes can only mean one thing—seasonal favorites are on the way. Every year, our brewers head to the Pacific Northwest with the same goal: meet with growers to hand-select the hops that will bring out the freshest, most vibrant flavors and aromas in brews ahead. Their picks travel from the farm to the kettle in just days, and the brewery teams are hard at work on IPAs like Celebration and Northern Hemisphere. ?? Get ready, these beers are all about celebrating the season in every sip—and they're heading your way soon.

Quality, Integrity, People, Community and Sustainability These are not just words, but a cultural lifestyle and commitment at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Our mission is the same as it has been since Sierra Nevada started in 1980 with a humble hand-built brewhouse - to produce and market the finest ales and lagers possible and to do it responsibly. Since launching our garden compost project in Chico two years ago, we’ve diverted over 100 tons of brewing waste from landfills, using massive volumes of spent brewing ingredients—like heaps of hops—to create nutrient-rich compost for our Estate garden. Our Chico agriculture team leads the program, and helps us stay laser-focused on compost quality and soil health, all while maintaining our commitment of diverting at least 90% of solid waste from landfills.? Jordan Wiley, our Agriculture Technician, explains: “The compost we create on-site removes the need to truck in outside materials, helping us achieve a closed-loop system right here at the Chico brewery.” ????

Chilly temps don’t faze our assistant brewer Alex. “Working in the hop cooler never gets old!” he says. Every day, Alex and the team measure out this key ingredient for brewing Pale Ale, Hazy Little Thing, Torpedo, and more. “The smell of fresh hops is something I truly look forward to every day,” he adds. “My job is to ensure our ingredients are fresh, precise, and always up to Sierra Nevada standards.” It’s true that working with whole-cone hops takes more time and effort, but the result is worth it. “The saying ‘it tastes better because it’s made with love’ couldn’t be more true,” says Alex. “I take great pride in knowing I have a direct hand in the beer I choose to drink every time.” Here’s to Alex and the entire crew for keeping our beer tasting its best! ?? We're brewing the Brewers Collaboration beer! This beer is a collaborative effort to celebrate and benefit the CALIFORNIA CRAFT BREWERS ASSOCIATION, the nonprofit that protects and supports craft brewers in California. Each brewery creates a beer in the style of their choice and our version is a West Coast IPA. Stay tuned for release details and check the link for a list of all participating breweries! https://bit.ly/3w78vfl #CCBABrewersCollab #CACraftBeerWeek

“The Quality department’s overall goal is to ensure our beer is consistent in flavor, aroma, and appearance," says Jamie Roak, Sierra Nevada Quality Project Specialist. To do this, she and her team test our beer from the start of yeast propagation all the way to the final product being shipped out. It's serious business, but Jamie takes it in stride. "If I have a tough day, I remind myself that not only do I work in a brewery, but at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. I play a part in making some of the best beer in the world."

"This beer paved the way and is still going strong coming up on half a century later, and if that isn’t worth toasting, I’m not sure what is." Thank you Forbes and Erik Ofgang for including Pale Ale in "Classic Craft Beers Still Worth Drinking"! https://lnkd.in/gW_9xXH4

We're proud to once again partner with the Trust for Public Land (TPL), who is dedicated to connecting everyone to the joys of the outdoors. As leaders in equitable access, TPL creates parks and protects public land where they're needed most. Since 2022, we've worked with TPL to conserve crucial landscapes—in California's Sierra Nevada and beyond—protecting more than 5,000 acres of land in our back yard to date, with much more to come.
