  • At Sierra Nevada, there’s no one path to career growth—just a shared mindset: stay curious, show up, and keep learning. When Mandi McKay joined in 2008, sustainability wasn’t yet part of most corporate vocabularies. She started by tracking waste, composting food scraps, and turning fryer oil into biodiesel. Over time, her role evolved from hands-on coordinator to strategic leader—driving environmental and social responsibility across the business. What’s kept her going? “Every day I get to do work that matters to me personally… and that I feel is positively impacting the company, those around me, and a broader purpose.” Back in 1995, Sheri Nunn was greeting guests in the Taproom. Over the years, she moved through accounting, payroll, and eventually HR project management, helping support the team through everything from employee events to Chico, California's post-wildfire recovery efforts. Some careers, like Tara Pattison's, move fast. In just five years, she’s worked in filtration, innovation brewing, and now leads our R&D team. One standout memory: “Developing, brewing, and packaging my own beer." Starting as an intern in R&D, Kimberly Bacigalupo didn’t expect to end up leading Quality Assurance & Food Safety. But with every new opportunity she said yes. “I don't have a fear of change or trying new things,” she said. “So when there is an opportunity that I find interesting I'll jump at it.” After 21 years and 10 roles, Sarah Ferro has become one of the company’s most experienced cross-functional leaders. Now overseeing Supply Chain & Procurement, she’s shaped her path by stepping outside her comfort zone. “Change is inevitable—we can fight it or embrace it,” she said, “but it's always happening. It's most productive and less painful to always put your best foot forward with it.” In the kitchen, Jessica Massie has redefined what Taproom food can be. She rose from Kitchen Supervisor to Executive Chef at our North Carolina brewery by encouraging her team’s creativity and pushing past the usual “pub fare.” “I love to hear new ideas from my team and encourage people to participate in our menu as much as possible,” she said. Some career shifts are about discovering something unexpected. For Sarah Santana, that meant moving from customer service into compliance—a path that led all the way to her current role as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer. Her best advice? “Do the right thing the right way and you can't go wrong.” And Jennifer MacLennan, who once worked in guest-facing roles, now helps shape Sierra Nevada’s brand voice as a Social Media Specialist. “Sharing real stories about our people, our products, and our purpose… it’s deeply rewarding to show the heart behind what we do and see that resonate with our audience." We're proud of the paths our team members have taken, and the shared commitment that keeps us growing together.

  • This month, we joined Ceres, Inc. on Capitol Hill to show our support for clean energy and resilient agriculture. Together with 80 other companies, we urged Congress to continue federal clean energy incentives and agriculture conservation programs so we can keep the momentum going on clean manufacturing and support for farmers. Sierra Nevada has been an industry leader in onsite renewable energy and we shared the importance of these initiatives in making our business and supply chain more resilient. These policies and programs are essential for businesses to continue investing in our operations and communities. #LEADonClean2025

We’re proud to share that Sierra Nevada has been named Best Small Beer Supplier at the Questex #VIBEConference - the premier gathering for on-premise beverage leaders. This award is especially meaningful because it’s based on direct feedback from operators, recognizing our commitment to business-building support and top-tier service. A huge shoutout to our National Accounts On-Premise Team—Bob Clark, Dan Root, Lauren C., Alli Kahn, Kylena Parks, Stacey Hamilton, and everyone who contributed to this achievement. Your dedication and passion continue to elevate our brand in the chain restaurant and hospitality space. Here’s to raising the bar and delivering excellence—one pint at a time!

President Jimmy Carter was well-known for peanut farming, but did you know he signed legislation that made homebrewing legal? The bill opened the door for craft brewers like our founder, Ken Grossman. Thanks to The Wall Street Journal for talking with Ken and sharing this fascinating history.

  • Now that we have ensured all our employees are safe and we have basic utilities restored at our site,?we are so grateful to begin supporting our community. This week, we worked with Food Connection WNC to donate more than 1,000 pounds of food to those who need it. We have also partnered with MANNA FoodBank - Asheville NC on a $50,000 donation towards their own recovery and the critical support they are providing in the wake of Helene. ? ? This is the very beginning of a long recovery process for Western North Carolina and we are working to support ongoing recovery efforts in the next weeks, months, and years to come.?

  • Ever spot the hop cone that's etched on the bottom of some of our brewery pint glasses? It’s there to help create nucleation—essential to that perfect, frothy head on each Sierra Nevada draught pour. CO? clings to irregularities in the glass (nucleation sites) providing a surface for bubbles to form and rise to the top, creating that beautiful foam and releasing rich aromas and flavors. So this special design isn't just another way to show our love for hops, it also provides a little extra nucleation magic. "More of these points help with a better drinking experience," says Terrell Lowe, our Trade Quality Specialist, "It's science and craft in every pour."

    • A person pours a beer from a Sierra Nevada tap at a bar.
    • A glass of beer placed on a metal drip tray with circular holes. The beer appears golden and is illuminated warmly.
  • Those hop harvest scenes can only mean one thing—seasonal favorites are on the way. Every year, our brewers head to the Pacific Northwest with the same goal: meet with growers to hand-select the hops that will bring out the freshest, most vibrant flavors and aromas in brews ahead. Their picks travel from the farm to the kettle in just days, and the brewery teams are hard at work on IPAs like Celebration and Northern Hemisphere. ?? Get ready, these beers are all about celebrating the season in every sip—and they're heading your way soon.

  • Since launching our garden compost project in Chico two years ago, we’ve diverted over 100 tons of brewing waste from landfills, using massive volumes of spent brewing ingredients—like heaps of hops—to create nutrient-rich compost for our Estate garden. Our Chico agriculture team leads the program, and helps us stay laser-focused on compost quality and soil health, all while maintaining our commitment of diverting at least 90% of solid waste from landfills.? Jordan Wiley, our Agriculture Technician, explains: “The compost we create on-site removes the need to truck in outside materials, helping us achieve a closed-loop system right here at the Chico brewery.” ????
