Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease where tissue similar to the kind that lines the inside of the uterus (endometrium) grows outside of it. Anyone with a uterus can get endometriosis. It affects up to 10% of adults and adolescents of reproductive age (15-49 years) but it often goes undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Today is Native American HIV/AIDs Awareness Day. At a time when we should be investing in HIV education and prevention programs for all, it is unconscionable that we would reverse the immense progress we have made in ending HIV and abandon our most vulnerable communities.
