Congratulations to Sidley partners Yvette Ostolaza, Penny Reid, and Yolanda Cornejo Garcia and their team on their recognition on last week’s The American Lawyer Litigation Daily’s “Litigator of the Week” list. They were recognized for their work helping Aspen American Insurance Co. secure a ruling in Connecticut Superior Court dismissing a lawsuit brought by a group of dentists’ offices seeking business interruption coverage for government-mandated shutdowns during the pandemic. The decision on personal jurisdiction grounds caps a remarkable 24-case winning streak the firm has for Aspen in business interruption litigation, with none of the cases proceeding past a motion to dismiss. The Sidley team also included Robin Wechkin, Mitchell Alleluia-Feinberg, and Tayler Bragg.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in London for Sidley’s inaugural European Legal Heads roundtable. 25 European legal heads — including those from Accenture, Adobe, The Coca-Cola Company, Mastercard, McDonald's, MSD, Qualcomm, Salesforce, SHEIN, and Zoom — joined Sidley’s Tom Thesing, Todd Friedbacher, Leonard Ng, Ramy J. Wahbeh, and Bill Tulin, for an engaging conversation regarding issues that are top of mind as we move into 2025. ? Special thanks to our co-moderators, Seda Yalcinkaya (Apollo Global Management, Inc.) and Jeff Bullwinkel (Microsoft), for leading such an informative, lively, and fun dinner discussion.
