Cyber Forensics Intelligence Center @ SHSU celebrated the opening of the SHSU Security Operations Center (SOC) on September 19. This is a team effort with tremendous support from the SHSU upper administration. In addition to improving SHSU’s security, a SOC is also a powerful workforce development tool for our students and our region.?The skills that students will learn working in a SOC are in high demand and will make them valuable to regional employers. The lessons learned can be brought back into the classroom and provide valuable insights to SHSU Department of Computer Science students and faculty. Thank you to the core team of advisors and representatives that brainstormed, approved and assisted every step of the way. We are grateful to receive another $50,000 annual scholarship with summer internship opportunities from The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, Sheri Robinson. 10 undergraduate students who are in good standing and enrolled full-time in the College of Science and Engineering Technology,SHSU Department of Computer Science will be awarded scholarships.
