Rishi K Chawla, Carlsberg Group Carlsberg is actively investing in technology to reduce its water consumption in beer production, aiming to lower its water usage from 3.5 liters to 1.7 liters per liter of beer. Their "Together Towards 0 and Beyond" initiative integrates sustainability into employee performance bonuses, including that of the CEO. The company follows a dual approach to water replenishment—reducing usage within its production processes and working with NGOs outside the fence, benefiting 34,000 villagers in Mysore through water conservation projects. Nishtha Gupta, Suzlon Group Suzlon has advanced water-efficient technologies, minimizing consumption across operations. The company is also exploring air-to-water conversion technology, with R&D focused on region-specific solutions based on humidity and precipitation. Beyond internal efforts, Suzlon emphasizes sustainable procurement, evaluating suppliers beyond carbon impact through initiatives like the India Green Steel Coalition and BIS Standardization for MSMEs. The company has innovated its leather chemical processes, reducing water usage by 20% in manufacturing. Santosh Kumar Singh, Larsen & Toubro L&T is working toward achieving water neutrality by 2035, setting specific water reduction targets across its independent business units. In construction, the company has reengineered processes to optimize water consumption, reducing water use in concrete production to 150 liters per ton. L&T also operates zero liquid discharge units, repurposing wastewater for industrial use.
