The first post-COVID ShowMeCon is in the books. I spent nearly 4 years debating whether or not to start it back up. Eventually, it came down to two things: I wanted to continue to provide an event where my InfoSec colleagues could learn about the latest threats and solutions while having fun. The second was, I wanted to see my friends; speakers, attendees, and sponsors.
The day I announced bringing SMC back, is the day I realized I bit off more than I could chew. To say I needed help was an understatement. My help came in January when Brooke Deneen came to work for me. We had an insurmountable task ahead of us and we just kept moving forward.
And boy I am glad we did. The moment the first attendee showed up I knew that this was the right thing to do and everything would be wonderful. Throughout the con, many people came up to me and told me how much it meant for ShowMeCon to be back. While I appreciate it, I can promise you it meant so much more for me that people showed up and had a great time.
Thank you to all the speaker, sponsors, attendees, and most importantly the volunteers who made 2024 ShowMeCon such a success. Though I have been tired since, a smile has not left my face.
Look forward to seeing everyone June 9th - 10th for ShowMeCon 2025
