The Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign is one village among many that invites us all, as people of faith and goodwill, to ask ourselves: What can I do? What role can I play? What responsibilities do I have to my neighbors? Because "it takes a village" to build a more pluralistic U.S. and we all can do our part to move us closer towards a greater vision. Mahmoud Khalil, a U.S. permanent resident, father-to-be, and student activist for Palestinian human rights, has been arrested and detained, despite not being charged with any crime. A federal judge ruled on Monday that Khalil cannot be deported, but he is still being detained and his safety and future are unknown as the courts determine what is next. No one should be targeted or punished based on their identity or political views. Free speech is a right for everyone living in the U.S. PRAY + ACT: Make special prayers for Mahmoud & his family.
