    Great read by Fashion Dive We are thrilled to see the recent findings from Vestiaire Collective's circularity report, shedding light on the growing popularity and benefits of shopping pre-loved luxury items. The statistics presented in the report not only validate the value proposition of pre-owned luxury but also underscore the shift towards more conscious fashion choices. According to Fashion Dive: " 'The report centers on a “cost-per-wear metric' for fast fashion and used luxury items, which Vestiaire determines by an item’s frequency of use, total life span and resale value. It argues that while fast fashion items 'may appear more financially attractive,' used luxury items 'are more a more financially-sound investment in the long term.' " The comparison of the cost-per-wear metric between fast fashion and used luxury outfits is particularly enlightening. "The report found that shopping for preowned luxury items is 33% more affordable than buying new fast fashion products." It's clear that shopping for pre-owned luxury items offers significant cost savings while still allowing consumers to indulge in high-quality fashion. As the report suggests, this creates what they call the "upscale effect," where consumers can acquire better quality, pre-loved pieces at a comparable price — or even less — than they’d spend on fast fashion. "The report found that the average resold luxury item is worn 88 times, which is 76% more than the average fast fashion item. These numbers skew higher in categories such as dresses and jackets. Used dresses are worn eight times more than fast fashion dresses, and used coats are worn four times more than fast fashion coats, per the report." - Fashion Dive This statistic speaks volumes about the durability and longevity of luxury pieces. Now imagine the cost-per-wear for a bag you could use everyday! We've always championed the idea that quality transcends trends, and these findings further reinforce our belief that investing in pre-loved luxury is the way to go. #ShopPreLoved?
