Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty in America by giving children in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy, prepared to learn, play and thrive. New shoes that fit allow children to fit in with their peers, participate in outdoor activity and concentrate on their schoolwork rather than on their circumstances. Our national office based in Claremont, CA supports volunteer sponsor groups in all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, providing new shoes to more than 180,000 children at over 1,900 schools. Since our founding in 1992, more than 3 million pairs of new shoes and other necessities have been raised and delivered to children in need through our programs. With only 22 employees, Shoes That Fit has consistently earned the highest 3 and 4-Star ratings over the past decade from Charity Navigator, one of the nation's leading evaluators of nonprofit performance. We have achieved status as a 2023 Top Rated Charity through Great Nonprofits and are Gold Star Participants of GuideStar. We were named California NonProfit of the Year in 2017.
