Employee engagement and culture. When team members feel valued and included, they’re more likely to contribute positively and achieve remarkable outcomes. Encouraging open communication and providing support can help build that buy-in mindset needed for change and growth, ultimately leading to a more resilient and productive team. We recently asked our folks to each come up with one word to describe how they felt to be a part of our safety office at the R&R Family of Companies; below is their collective message that we put up on a wall in our “Safety Den”. Down another wall are games that invite play; just for a minute or two or ten, to step out of the day-to-day stressors and challenges that are expected in a large trucking and brokerage safety office. It’s fun to see the movement when someone builds a new Scrabble word, slides down a Connect 4 type puck, strategically moves a checker piece, or pulls out a jenga block. It’s corny but we love to joke around that “Teamwork makes the Dreamwork”, but it truly does. Let your team up for air as often as needed and they’ll double down twice as hard when they recoup.
