We are thrilled to announce that new emergency housing in Durham will soon open its doors, providing a safe and supportive space for 13 individuals, 7 adults, and 6 children fleeing domestic violence. This initiative is a significant step in creating a refuge for those in need, and we can’t do it without YOU! As the holiday season approaches, a time when domestic violence cases often rise—your support can help us meet the December 1 deadline to welcome our first families. While we’ve secured furniture, we still need essential items to make these units feel like home. How You Can Make a Difference: ?? $75: Provides household essentials like cleaning supplies and toiletries. ?? $150: Stocks the pantry with groceries and cooking staples. ?? $300: Offers high-quality bedding for restful nights. ?? $750: Creates a child’s sanctuary with toys, books, and more. ?? $1,500: Covers three months of utilities for one unit. ?? $3,000: Fully outfits an entire unit to welcome a survivor and their family. This past Saturday, ED Dudley, had the privilege of connecting with the Triangle Association of Black Social Workers (TABSW), sharing our mission, the heart behind what we do, and the impact we strive to make. It was an inspiring gathering with dedicated professionals who share our commitment to supporting and uplifting our communities. Founded in 1975 in Durham, North Carolina, by Dr. Audreye E. Johnson—a founding member of the National Association of Black Social Workers—the Triangle Association of Black Social Workers (TABSW) has been a cornerstone of advocacy and support for the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill areas and beyond.
