Almost a month has passed since I had the privilege of attending the Mental Health America conference in DC. It was an unforgettable experience packed with insightful conversations, powerful stories, and forward-thinking strategies focused on shaping the future of mental health.?? Kicked off by MHA CEO Schroeder Stribling, the event set the tone for the future of mental health, emphasizing upstream prevention, youth mental wellness, and health equity. These themes deeply resonate with the mission of ShineQuo as we focus on proactive mental wellness for students. I attended powerful sessions on youth mental health, where speakers shared insights on public education, peer-to-peer support, and how mental health should be seen as primary health. Learning how youth-driven initiatives can reshape mental wellness strategies was a reminder that we are all part of this bigger mission. Also remembering that education is not just for students, but also for professors and administrators, is critical to fostering a culture of mental fitness across campuses. I also connected with inspiring speakers like Patrick J. Kennedy, Dr. Charles Clayton Daniels Jr., M.Div., LICSW, LCSW-C, LCSW. , Nelson Dunlap, Kelly Davis, Rainelle Walker-White, all youth leaders etc. who presented their experiences, leadership and research on mental health. Sessions led by different community speakers provided invaluable insights into how we can better serve diverse populations and integrate their experiences into more inclusive mental health services. What struck me the most was the collective focus on youth. As a former international student, I connected deeply with the session where one youth leader mentioned, “We are given the burden of being treated like children while carrying the responsibility of saving the future.” Thanks to my team and advisors Ryan Travia, Ed.D., Jack Nedelman, Kristina Nowak-Bunce and Ilena Bose for working with me, supporting me at every step and helping me represent ShineQuo at this incredible conference. I’m energized by the new ideas, insights, and connections that have come out of this conference and am more driven than ever to continue driving ShineQuo forward, providing proactive solutions that help the next generation navigate the pressures of modern life. We’ve officially completed and won the Butler Launch Pad Fast Track Program at Babson College! This intensive, weekly coaching program is designed for entrepreneurs ready to accelerate their business concepts with robust support and resources throughout the academic year. A core component of our experience was the weekly meetings where we shared our progress and milestones. These sessions provided us with invaluable feedback and guidance, and we gained insights from peers and mentors across different Babson programs and industries. This structured, semester-long commitment significantly advanced ShineQuo’s mission and objectives. We are thrilled to share that ShineQuo has successfully completed the prestigious "WIN Lab Venture Accelerator" at Babson College. This rigorous 10-week program, spearheaded by the Babson College Frank & Eileen? Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, has been nothing short of transformative. The WIN Lab’s blend of Babson’s world-renowned ET&A pedagogy, strategic mentorship, and a supportive community of women entrepreneurs and allies has propelled our journey forward. Special thanks to our mentors Fausta Nazaire, MD, MBA, CPE, Beth Somers Stutzman, and Valaurie Lee, who provided invaluable insights and guidance. Throughout the accelerator, we focused on three pivotal areas: Customer Acquisition & Sales, Financial Capital, and Human Capital/Social Capital. The program not only held us accountable to our goals but also enriched our strategies with one-on-one coaching and mastermind expertise. Joining a cohort of driven women entrepreneurs, experiencing their journeys, and sharing our challenges and successes has reinforced the power of community in entrepreneurship.
