Did you celebrate National Hot Dog Day last month? Simpson Strong-Tie did and while they were eating hot dogs and sending their co-workers and supervisors splashing into the dunk tank, they raised over $2,000 to help provide hope and a future for single moms and their children here at Shiloh Place! Thank You, Simpson Strong-Tie!! You are #LIFECHANGERS and your fun afternoon directly impacts our hardworking moms as they create a new legacy for their family.

What a joy it was to host a visit to Shiloh Place for the team at Flair Data Systems. Their growing partnership with us has been a gift, not only to our current moms, but also to a recently graduated mom. Jessica, one of their key team members has been mentoring one of our moms in the cybersecurity field. Flair Data is working to create a brand new mentorship program that will help provide critical experience for our recent graduate. The team at Flair Data are?#LifeChangers?and we are excited to discover how else we can partner together. We are incredibly thankful for the unique ways our community walks alongside Shiloh Place and our moms together to help them create a new legacy for their families.

Time to celebrate!! ?? Congratulations to this hard working mom! She graduated with her CNA certification, which qualified her for a new job, with better pay! This means she will be able to pay down debt faster and continue to grow her savings. Her next goal is phlebotomy certification, another major step towards securing a stable, head of household career. We are so proud of her! It is a privilege to walk beside our moms as they do the hard work to create a new legacy for their families. Thank you to the St. Gabriel the Archangel?Women’s Club! They recently invited us out to speak to their women’s club and hosted a drive for our new moms’ apartments. When a mom moves in, we fill their apartment with all the basics - sheets, towels, dishes, cleaning supplies, pots and pans, etc. It’s a tangible way for us to show them that they are loved, that they have value and that we believe they are worth being investing in. It may seem insignificant, but for a mom who may have only ever had used, chipped, mix-matched plates it is an intentional reminder that we see them the way the God who created them does. Moms come into our lives in so many ways. Think of the incredible moms in your life - those who have cared for you, provided for you, loved you, disciplined you, sacrificed for you, advocated for you, stayed up late, woken up early, celebrated you, and so much more. The moms at Shiloh Place work diligently to create a new legacy for their children. They go to school full-time, work part-time, attend life skills classes and counseling and parent full-time, while doing all of the above for their children too. As Mother's Day approaches, you can honor the legacy the moms in your life have given you, by giving a gift to Shiloh Place, so that our moms have the support they need to create a new legacy for their children.
