On September 19, we had the privilege of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening of The Stand - Golden West College's new location of its Basic Needs Center. Our CEO, Claudia Bonilla Keller was the keynote speaker at the event. “We live in one of the most affluent counties in one of the richest states in arguably the richest nation in the history of the world…and one in 10 people at some point in the year doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from,” said Claudia Bonilla Keller. “I love the name The Stand because you all have taken a stand for your students. Please know that Second Harvest will stand with you here. We are proud to stand with you and you can count on us.” We are proud to supply food to college pantries and help ensure that the future leaders of our world have dignified, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food. To learn more about the ribbon cutting ceremony and Golden West College's Basic Needs Center, check out the stories in our bio. #WeFeedOC #SecondHarvestOC

Thank you to Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation for the very impactful gift and for sharing in our mission to provide dignified, equitable and consistent access to nutritious food to Orange County. This donation goes directly towards funding our Mobile School Pantry program which offers local families access to farmer’s market-style food distributions conveniently located in their neighborhood and oftentimes at their child’s school! To date, 22.6 million pounds of food have been distributed through this impactful program. #WeFeedOC #SecondHarvestOC #BrightJoy

A big thank you to Senator Tom Umberg and staff for visiting our Distribution Center last week. Senator Umberg represents California's 34th Senate District, which includes most of Santa Ana, Anaheim, Placentia, Fullerton, Buena Park, La Habra, and the west side of Orange. Last year, Second Harvest distributed over 11 million pounds of food to this Senate District alone! Thank you to our elected officials for their partnership and support in our work to end food insecurity in Orange County. #WeFeedOC #SecondHarvestOC

This #HungerActionMonth, Disneyland Resort donated $100,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank. This extraordinary donation shows Disneyland's dedication to raising awareness about food insecurity in Orange County and their continued vital work in our community. “Without the support we receive from generous donors like Disneyland Resort, we couldn’t provide the 35 million pounds of food that we deliver to our Orange County neighbors in need each year," said Claudia Bonilla Keller, CEO of Second Harvest. "Thank you, Disneyland Resort, for helping us work toward our vision of an Orange County with food and nutritional security for all.” #WeFeedOC #HAM #SecondHarvestOC
