Why is it that we're focused more on running travel creator campaigns these days? Because women make up almost 85% of creators (ooh! Another 85% stat!) and yet women creators make 30% less than their male counterparts (and that's just white women -- women of color make even less). Not only does making the travel industry more equitable for women start with better representation of all of us in travel marketing and leadership, it also means putting money back into the pockets of the women who are wielding the power of travel. More money in the pockets of women creators. More money in the pockets of woman-owned businesses. That's where we're coming in. What do you get when you mix a group of savvy travel content creators, a bunch of fantastic businesses (many minority and woman-owned), and stunningly gorgeous early autumn weather? An absolutely amazing press trip! Grateful to have partnered with Visit KC to bring together five outstanding creators plus our own founder Beth Santos for a weekend of discovery, sisterhood, and endless collaboration in perhaps one of the most surprising cities to date! We loved going "beyond the BBQ" to create content about unique places like the Latina- and indigenous-owned Café Corazón owned by Dulcinea Herrera, and chatting with co-owner Kemet Coleman at the first Black-owned brewery in Missouri, Vine Street Brewing Co.
