????♂??? What an amazing day we had at the WTC Safety and Community Awareness Day alongside Citrus County Fire Rescue and the Inverness Fire Department! Teaching kids about the vital role of first responders is so important, and today’s event was a perfect opportunity to bring that message to life. Two of our deputies and one of our amazing Communications Officers attended alongside Fire Rescue, which had a fire apparatus, a rescue, and the Fire Safety House with them! It’s essential for students to understand and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our first responders, who are always ready to help in times of need. Christina was nominated by her peers for her commitment to excellence in her duties as a Crime Scene Specialist (CSS). During the investigation of a recovered stolen golf cart, CSS Cronin successfully lifted a palm print that was later identified as belonging to a person of interest. Without this vital piece of evidence, this investigation would have been far more challenging to follow up on. ???? Her expertise in forensic science is an asset to the detectives, not only in this instance but on a weekly basis. CSS Cronin consistently demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, whether processing crime scenes or providing comprehensive reports. Christina's peers, supervision, and fellow Crime Scene Specialists all praise her exceptional attention to detail, a vital trait for anyone in the Forensics Unit. ? Last week, Detective Adolf and Deputy Shafer had the opportunity to attend the Police Honor Guard of Broward County (FL) Academy. During this week-long training, they sharpened their skills in a variety of essential honor guard duties. They were trained at six different stations, covering everything from colors posting and presentation to full line-of-duty death services. The duo practiced key Honor Guard tasks, including guarding the casket, carrying and folding the flag, marching, and following funeral protocol. #OneCommunityOneGoal #HonorGuard #StrongerTogether

???This weekend, VFW Post 4252 in Hernando honored ??????. ???????????????????? and ?????????????????? ?????????????????? with the Life Saving Award for their heroic actions in rescuing a nine-month-old infant who had drowned in a pool last year. In addition to recognizing these individuals, VFW Post 4252 also showed their support by presenting Sheriff Vincent with a generous $500 donation to the agency. ? ???????? ???????????????? ???????????? ??????????????????: ???????????? ???????????? ? Recently, Deputy Bernal responded to an in-progress residential burglary in Crystal River. An unknown suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Xavier Dixon, had entered the residence through a rear sliding door while both victims were sleeping. Dixon, who was bleeding from the face, stood over both victims in their bedroom until they woke up. Dixon then threatened both victims with a firearm before fleeing the residence. Deputy Bernal quickly arrived on the scene, conducted a protective sweep of the residence, and immediately made contact with the victims, calming them down and gathering a detailed description of the suspect. Deputy Bernal did a fantastic job of providing other units in the area with crucial details about the suspect and worked diligently until Dixon was ultimately captured near the victim's residence. Deputy Bernal completed a very thorough investigation, which will help the prosecution of a dangerous and unpredictable felony offender. #EmployeeSpotlight #CCSO #OneCommunityOneGoal
