Who's ready for another Flashback, Foodie Friday? Join us at ThrowBack Alley (TBA) starting at 4 p.m. tomorrow for our Smash Burger featuring two Snake River wagyu patties with house-made bacon jam, American cheese, caramelized onions, shredded lettuce, and secret sauce. Chili cheese curly fries, green river slush and Hawaiian Soda Company's flavors lilikoi lychee, passion orange guava, and mango sunset round out the menu. Executive Chef Blake Kajiwara introduced TBA as a bi-weekly pop-up designed to bring back nostalgic flavors of the past - when diners and drive-ins were a strong part of the food culture in Hawaii. Hau‘oli lā Hānau, Princess Ka‘iulani! The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani ‘ohana spent a day honoring the hotel’s namesake, Princess Ka‘iulani on the 149th anniversary of her birth. The day began with lei presentation, cake for hotel guests, entertainment by the legendary Royal Hawaiian Band, and a visit by the students of Princess Ka‘iulani Elementary School in Honolulu. Victoria Ka?iulani Kawēkiu i Lunalilo Kalaninuiahilapalapa Cleghorn was born on October 16, 1875 to Princess Miriam Likelike, who was the sister of both King David Kalākaua and Queen Lili?uokalani. Upon her birth, the young princess was gifted land in Waikīkī, which was named ‘āinahau. Today, the hotel sits on that site, and Ainahau is the name of one of three towers at Sheraton Princess Kaiulani.
