User Experience, aka UX, is at the core of why a website visitor becomes a brand's customer. Sure, other factors weigh heavily into a conversion, yet even those have UX at their core. People will pay more for convenience. That's UX. People will choose your brand if they can get what they want faster. That's UX. When people can find what they want faster, they will act faster in favor of your brand. That's UX. A refund request can easily turn into a repeat purchase, thanks to UX.? shepx believes and practices the idea that the difference between an underperforming website and a website that adds actual value to the brand is UX. Asking, "How long does it take to create a website?" will get the same answer as asking, "How long does it take to build a house?" It depends. That's the worst answer, right? Yet, it's true because websites, like houses, are entities of scale. Are we talking about a 5-page website or a 50-page website?? Is this an Informational or Transactional website? (hint: we have a great Insights article about this very question) What is the website's main goal? Are we creating the content, such as videos, articles, custom images, etc., to achieve that goal, or are you supplying it? There are a lot of factors. For what it's worth, the average website shepx creates takes 3-5 months from start to launch.? We have built some websites in less and more time than that.? It all depends on scale. tip: use animation on your website with helpful intent. we have all sat through a presentation that had way too much animation in the deck. it's insufferable, a waste of everyone's time, and detracts from whatever point is being made. yet when it comes to applying animation on websites, people with an otherwise cautious eye can be carried away by the temptation to animate everything. shepx believes animation on websites can be useful–even helpful…when applied with helpful intent. that's the key: be helpful. think about the website's pages as each having a hierarchy. some things are more important than other things, and subtle or at least tactful animation can help present the hierarchy in a more obvious way. let's do better, together: shepx.us

is your website informational or transactional? When creating a website, one vital question is often not asked: Are we making a transactional or an informational website? The answer to this changes the entire process. transactional websites A transactional website is what we see with e-commerce. Here, everything happens on the site, from curiosity to conversion. The brand uses marketing to bring people to the page. The whole experience and the transaction should be completed before the visitor leaves. informational websites On the other hand, an informational website is different. Its goal is to share a message over time. Think of it like a relay race where the website carries the brand’s message baton for part of the journey. It doesn’t handle transactions or conversions but focuses on good messaging. why it matters The big difference between these two types is how you measure success. You can’t use the same performance metrics for both. This is why it’s crucial to ask this question at the start. Mixing methods for these websites can lead to disastrous outcomes. So, let’s begin by asking the right questions for your website today. Let's do better, together: shepx.us
