A Library that Reflects Austin's Values ???? Austin Central Library is a state-of-the-art facility that transcends the traditional concept of a library. Designed as a vibrant community hub, it captivates visitors, inspiring and connecting the community. Achieving LEED Platinum certification, this library showcases Austin's environmental commitments through rainwater harvesting, an in-ground cistern, and the building's vegetated roof. Each measure works together to reduce the facility's water usage. Utilizing native and sustainable materials, the library offers flexible spaces for reading, studying, and hosting community events. At the same time, the design seamlessly integrates cutting-edge digital resources and interactive installations, creating a unique environment where tradition meets innovation. Engaged to renovate The University of Massachusetts Amherst's 99,000-SF student union, we focused on two main goals: transforming the union into a "campus living room" and ensuring it conveys a sense of academic and social well-being. Establishing a neighborhood ??? Engaged by Wabash College to help transform student life and position the school for an anticipated surge in enrollment, our design team created a strategic master plan to address its on-campus needs. The result: A series of buildings that evolve the look and feel of the campus, complemented by outdoor spaces and multi-use lawns that foster community and interaction. Among the six new buildings is Martindale Hall, which adds 136 student beds to campus, increasing housing capacity by 25%.
