In any class, 99% is an A and worthy of celebration. And that’s certainly true at Shepherd Community Academy, where 99% of students demonstrated improvement on reading and math assessments in January. To celebrate that achievement, the two students who showed the highest percentage of growth on the I-Ready Reading Diagnostic were crowned principal for a day. On Monday, February 17, our Education to Employment (E2E) went on their annual trip to Perfect North Slopes! There were 33 middle and high school students in attendance. Our students got to ski, snowboard, and tube with their friends all day. Students and staff look forward to this trip because it increases our bonds with each other. Even at fun events like this, our students get to grow and learn about the world, whether it's learning how to keep track of their belongings or discovering the wonders of sales tax at the concession stand. Relationships with students and team members strengthen from events like this. Thanks to a generous donor family for paying for all of these students to enjoy this trip once again! This is one of the students' favorite trips each year!
