Key Takeaways from the 2025 US Monetary Policy Forum with Fed Chairman Jerome Powell. To tariff or not to tariff? But what is the answer when it comes to fixed income? There's been a push-pull between market views on growth versus inflation risks, with markets viewing the growth scare as more impactful, judging by moves over the past month: ? The 20bps rally in 10 Year U.S. Treasury bond yields ? A repricing to almost 3 Fed Fund cuts for Calendar Year ’25 from only ~1 ? cuts ? An equity market sell-off ranging from ~ -5% for the S&P 500 to -7% for the Nasdaq and -9% for the Russel 2000 Ongoing uncertainty, at the individual and corporate level, could cause pause or cut back in spending and investment, with recent data showing a possible slowdown in consumer spending.
