Our team was proud to Advance The Vision of THRIVE as they bring creative and flexible coworking space to entrepreneurs and enterprises in Birmingham. Located in the heart of the Urban Supply development in Birmingham's Parkside, this adaptive reuse project consisted of renovating an existing warehouse into an inspired coworking office space infused with purpose and adventure. Our scope of work included selective demolition, structural framing for private office spaces, glass partitions throughout, soundproof phone rooms, meeting and conference rooms, open collaboration space, a mail room, as well as a full-sized kitchen and coffee bar. Specialty finishes, wallpaper, carpeting, and furnishings make this unique work environment truly irresistible! "When we work together, we THRIVE." The new UAB Student Assembly Building is complete, and open for student use! At a ribbon cutting ceremony held on September 20th, UAB President Ray Watts presented students with their new home for registered student organizations. “This facility reflects the continued growth of both our physical campus and our vibrant student experience that supports our enrollment and retention efforts. Here in this exciting new hub of campus life, our student organizations can engage their membership in important meetings and events, recruit new members, and collaborate on new and effective ways to serve our community.” The collaborative space encompasses 12,790?GSF of assembly areas, storage space, office and administrative space, and a catering kitchen. It features one large assembly room, which can accommodate up to 280 students at a time and can be subdivided into three smaller assembly rooms.?The building also houses four individual assembly rooms with a capacity of 12 to 32 students each, as well as a hoteling office and administrative space, to be used by student organization leaders.? Shelby is proud to be a part of the continued growth within the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the City of Birmingham as a whole.

"The Alabama Theatre is finishing renovations that will transform and impact its space downtown. Other than some paint and electrical repairs, the theater's 15 backstage dressing rooms had not been renovated since they were built in 1927. Davis Architects and Shelby General Contractors were hired for the job, which involved replacing the outdated countertops, adding refrigerators, covering exterior electrical work, adding decorative wallpaper, custom furniture, mirrors and other art deco-inspired ornamental elements.
