At She Should Run, we’re all excited about exercising our right to vote this year. But the big question we’ve been asking ourselves is, how can we continue our civic engagement beyond voting? Introducing… VOTE, AND! VOTE, AND is a campaign that will help you connect your everyday actions to your political power and get civically engaged beyond voting. We’ve included tons of tools like a ballot evaluator, a guide to absentee voting, and information on how you can practice your civic duty, plus tips and activities to help you bring your community along for the ride. The keystone feature? A pledge to take 5 minutes to consider running for office yourself! When you’re ready to unwind from all of that civic engagement, we have fun crafts to do with your family, a playlist to jam to, and even a custom cocktail recipe to share! Explore VOTE, AND now: https://lnkd.in/esX99hQS VOTE, AND has been made possible with support from AstraZeneca US, Talk To Jess (Jess Weiner), and MAKERS Women.

关于我们
She Should Run is a non-partisan 501(c)3 that provides an approachable starting place and network for women leaders considering a future run for office and for those who support them. Our mission is to expand the talent pool of women running for office in the United States by providing community, resources, and growth opportunities for aspiring political leaders. We believe that women of all political leanings, ethnicities, and backgrounds should have an equal opportunity to lead in elected office and that our democracy will benefit from the varied perspectives and experiences that women bring to leadership. Since our VOTE, AND campaign launched two and a half weeks ago, we’ve seen more than 400 women pledge to consider running for office! For us, that’s what it’s all about: inspiring women to envision themselves in public leadership roles. But to keep doing this critical work, we need support from people like you. Give now to help us reach more women across the country and light the fire that will push them to pursue elected leadership:
-
Did you know that women serve as the head of government in just 13 of the 193 member states of the UN? That’s only 6.7%! What’s more, only 31% of member states have ever had a woman serve as head of government. It’s high time for a femininomenon!
About 1 in 3 UN member states have ever had a woman leader

A New Vote Mama Foundation report just dropped, and it found that there are NO state legislatures that have achieved proportional representation for mothers of minor kids. Here are top findings: ?? Moms of minor kids comprise just 7.9% of state legislators, which means they are represented in state legislatures at less than half the rate they appear in the general population ?? Mothers of children under the age of 6 are especially underrepresented and comprise only 1.7% of all state legislators ?? Only 2.3% of all state legislators are moms of color with kids under 18 ?? Only 0.5% of all state legislators are LGBTQ+ moms of minor kids These statistics highlight the significant gap in representation for mothers in political offices, pointing to the need for a closer examination of the structures that impact their participation. Vote Mama Foundation’s work aims to identify these barriers and promote a more inclusive political landscape.
