She Matters is a digital health platform transforming Black maternal health through cultural competency and technology. She Matters, founded by Jade Kearney and Marguerite Pierce, offers a unique culturally competent certification for healthcare providers developed with maternal health and equity experts. This certification, the first of its kind, emphasizes patient and provider safety, effective communication, and the history of systemic racism in healthcare. By leveraging technology, She Matters ensures accountability and cultural competence in healthcare. I need to make something very clear SHEMATTERS is not just a business for me, this is my life. Black women and other marginalized groups of women having the right to motherhood without fear of abandonment, abuse or death is why I am on this earth. This is beyond a valuation for me. This is about equitable health care, but also equity in venture capital. If you check on your Black Female led startups we are having the hardest time in this climate and the diagnosis is cyclical whether it be healthcare or economic opportunity, we are forgotten, we are shut out, we are marginized and we are USED. Get comfortable seeing me screaming from whatever soap box im given or fight for. In the end, we are already a unicorn, Black girls BEING in a system that literally says we don’t belong is magical.

We are inviting healthcare professionals, public policy directors, doctors, nurses, midwives and doulas to learn more about Black maternal mortality and morbidity! This election is vital for the safety of all women, but Black women are especially vulnerable ! Take a step in becoming culturally competent and better informed on issues that affect all of us in healthcare! This is free!

Black women have the highest maternal mortality rates in the United States. Maternal mortality and equity in maternal healthcare are all on the ballot! Join us for this very important conversation !!!

Join the She Matters Women’s Health Advisory Council! Council's Objective: The council's aim is to create and enhance a postpartum symptom tracker and resource platform that is culturally sensitive and rooted in the lived experiences and distinct health requirements of Black mothers. This involves identifying prevalent symptoms and their cultural nuances, as well as curating and suggesting actionable resources and healthcare guidance. Additionally, the council seeks to leverage insights to impact policy changes and research initiatives dedicated to advancing postpartum care and outcomes for Black women. The ultimate objective is to ensure that the platform not only addresses the immediate needs of Black mothers but also plays a role in advancing broader goals related to healthcare delivery and maternal health policies. Your expertise and insights would be instrumental in shaping this initiative. Your participation will involve bi-weekly one-hour meetings, supplemented by occasional email consultations for additional input.
