A few weekends ago we got together with a group of our food pantry volunteers for a celebratory lunch as a small thanks for their continued support at Project SOUP. Staff and volunteers enjoyed a yummy cookout and enjoyed a bit of the afternoon sun. It is thanks to the selfless commitment of our volunteers who donate their time that we are able to sustain our work at the pantry and meet the needs of our food insecure clients. Whether it’s assisting clients with a friendly smile, stocking shelves, delivering groceries or helping unload deliveries, we can always count on our generous volunteers to help us aid those in need. ?? ?? ?? A shout out and thank you to The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) for providing crucial funding for our Food Pantry Volunteer Coordinator position who spearheads our volunteering efforts and provides program structure. #EndHungerHere

We met Paul Delmonico of Del's Coffee Roasters in 2022 when he reached out about creating a coffee blend for SHC in order to raise support and awareness for our clients. Fast forward a little over two years, we are proud and honored to have Paul and Del’s Coffee as one of our closest supporters! At SHC, ensuring quality healthcare for our most vulnerable clients is a top priority. That’s why we are beyond grateful to be one of eight recipients of the RIZE Massachusetts’s Linkages to Care Grant Program. With this grant, we will continue our vital partnership with the Cambridge Health Alliance's Healthcare For The Homeless Program which enables us to offer on-the-street medical support for the unhoused and vulnerable population and operate a medical clinic in our Engagement Center on a weekly basis. “We often hear from clients how negative their experience is with healthcare services. They often face discrimination or judgment at a hospital or with their PCP. With the RIZE grant, we can continue our partnership with CHA's Healthcare for the Homeless Program.” Thank you to Rize Massachusetts for their support of our Outreach Services so that we may continue to work with CHA to bring top medical care and services directly to our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
