Shawnee Public Schools serves 4,000 students and their families in the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma. We are the largest school district in Pottawatomie County, a community known for its rich history and diverse community. Located just 35 miles from Oklahoma City, Shawnee is a growing city that is home to Oklahoma Baptist University and Gordon Cooper Technology Center.
Our philosophy at Shawnee Public Schools is to give students and staff everything necessary to be successful. We are focused on providing our staff access to up-to-date technology tools, research-driven professional development, and a healthy, supportive work environment. Our district provides staff members reduced cost daycare, a pay scale above the state minimum, and a $250 annual classroom stipend, to name only a few of the advantages for working for Shawnee Public Schools. We at Shawnee believe in supporting the whole student, such as through our telemedicine health clinics at every school site, our award winning fine arts programs, and our access to diverse activities and athletics opportunities.
With the support of Shawnee's AVEDIS Foundation and the Blue Zones Project of Pottawatomie County, Shawnee is quickly becoming known as a community focused on everyone's total well being. A wealth of community organizations, including Community Renewal of Pottawatomie County, are focused on making Shawnee, Oklahoma, a welcoming, supportive to live, work, and raise a family.

Future Wolves got a taste of life at Shawnee High School! Recently 300 eighth-grade students from local schools experienced Wolf Extravaganza, getting a firsthand look at what SHS has to offer. They were welcomed in true Wolf Pack style with performances from the Pride of the Pack drumline, Pom, and cheer before diving into all things SHS. Students heard from student leaders about the many athletics, activities, and programs available to them as they prepare for their high school journey.
