When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world in 2020, Danielle Heiser, RN, was in the early stages of her career as an Emergency Department nurse at Sharp Memorial Hospital. Her father, Chris, was also working as a paramedic at the time. Now a gastroenterology nurse at Sharp Rees-Stealy, Danielle says her father’s support during those uncertain times made a world of a difference. Yesterday, Danielle and Chris spoke with FOX 5 San Diego about what those early pandemic days were like — both as front-line workers and as father and daughter.

As we mark 5 years since the start of the pandemic, Sharp leaders share lessons learned and the positive impacts on health care.

Today, our incredible team at Sharp Rees-Stealy came together to wear blue in support of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. ?? Dress in Blue Day is held annually on the first Friday in March. It's an opportunity to amplify conversations about screening and prevention, support survivors, and honor those who have lost their lives to the disease.

Brandon was so inspired by his Sharp doctor, he went to school to become one himself.

This February, Sharp celebrates the achievements of Black Americans and their valuable role in our country’s history. Today we highlight the accomplishments of Dr. Jamie Lavender, a Sharp Rees-Stealy internal medicine doctor and member of Sharp Rees-Stealy's Board of Directors. Dr. Lavender's interest in medicine began at a young age. She found her passion for primary care at Sharp Rees-Stealy and has been with Sharp since 2013. Dr. Lavender values establishing long-lasting relationships with her patients and seeing their health improve over time.
