We had a FIN tastic field trip with grade 10 & 12 students from Louise McDonald High School. Students learned about lemon sharks and mangroves. They also discussed the importance of protecting this ecosystem for humans and animals. Connecting students to the ocean and these incredible places is critical for ocean conservation and the future. Tiger Shark Tuesday As apex predators, tiger sharks help maintain the balance of marine ecosystems. They regulate prey populations and even influence the behavior of other animals, like sea turtles, which avoid overgrazing seagrass beds in areas with tiger sharks.
